the Huge assignment hiller made us do when he was gone

1. How did his video resume help Trent?
His boss wouldn't have even given him an interview if he'd done a paper resume, but doing a video resume showed character and personality, which helped land him the job.
2. What did the employer say about the video with regard to hiring Trent?
He said that the video was just the thing that Trent needed to show what he was really like and to get ahead of other prospective employees.
3. What advantages does a video resume have over a paper resume?
It allows you to show personality compared with a paper resume, which is more black and white and kind of boring.
4. What did you like about these video resumes?
I like that the people are using creativity and showing possible employers what they are really like, instead of trying to just impress them with what seems like the employees want. I liked how Ben's was interactive and not all about work (like when he showed himself playing the piano).
5. What did you dislike?
I thought some of the humor was kind of annoying and unprofessional. But Stanley had a good point that if employers didn't like his humor then that workplace probably wasn't the one for him.
6. What is your opinion of the quality of the video?
I thought both videos were well done. Stanley's was a little boring because it was just him sitting at a desk.
7. What would you do to make your video better than these?
I would have interesting backgrounds, and try to make them more exciting, without coming across as obnoxious.
8. Which video did you like best?
I liked the one the girl did about photoshop.
9. WHY did you like that video best?
It was entertaining and creative. It was also simple, which was nice, and the music was a nice touch.
10. Which did you like least?
The one with the guy who wanted to be a photographer.
11. WHY?
There was a lot of movement and he didn't show anything about himself. Plus it didn't make sense.

  1. Number 12?

"I would have interesting backgrounds, and try to make them more exciting, without coming across as obnoxious."

Using this, answer #12 "At this point, thinking about the videos you just saw, and what you wrote about yourself yesterday, what ideas do you have for your promotional video." Are you going to do a specific thing? Try to cover everything? Any ideas for making it more exciting?

  2. I think I'll cover just basics like:
    -sports I play (soccer, basketball)
-hobbies of mine (playing the piano, cooking, hanging out with friends, running)
-and if I have time, things I like and dislike

I might make part of it funny, and include other people too so it's cooler.
